Brooke Heikkila

Photographer, Captain, Mother, Wife, and Friend
I studied photography at UCF School of Visual Art and Design. After finishing college in 2003, I moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition to photography, I have spent a great deal of time on the ocean as a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. My love for the Caribbean runs deep and I will probably spend the rest of my life in or on the water.

When I’m not photographing, I’m chasing two small children. Seeing the world through their eyes is my greatest gift. They remind me to be curious about everything, to see the beauty in the quiet moments, and to laugh at my mistakes.

When I’m alone, I’m a dorky cross-fitter that bakes the best banana bread and watches the Great British Baking Show. I am always making plans for my next vacation to feed my need to see the world, experience new things, and celebrate how vibrant and wonderful life is.
