WEATHER + BEST TIME TO VISIT – Weather can be unpredictable, but the USVI does have an optimal season. The best time to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands is typically from December to May. The weather is usually dry and sunny during these months, making it ideal for enjoying the beautiful beaches and outdoor activities. This period avoids the rainy season, which runs from June to November, and also stays clear of the peak hurricane season, which is most active from August through October. Additionally, visiting during this peak season ensures that all tourist services, activities, and accommodations are fully operational, offering the best experience possible. Understanding the seasonal characteristics of the islands will help you tailor your special day to your desire.
PERMITS + LAWS – These crucial, albeit sometimes annoying, details are essential for planning. Whether planning a natural beach or captivating resort elopement, it’s necessary to understand the marriage laws and licensing requirements. Sometimes, it might be simpler to handle the legal marriage in your home state and then celebrate with a ceremony and vows at your chosen destination. Ensure you understand all logistical needs before booking — what paperwork is required? Do you need an officiant or witnesses? Additionally, check if you need permits for the venue, especially in a national or state park, as they often require these for weddings, including small elopement-style events.
